Education Assistant Volunteer

Assist other volunteers and staff in delivering our education programme at Saddlescombe Farm for school children and youth groups in property led conservation/outdoor activities.  Should be enthusiastic,friendly,work as part of a team and enjoy outdoor activities ie:walking up hills building dens ,telling stories, answering questions, catching bugs.  Benefits to the volunteer of this opportunity:- work in an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team, increase your knowledge of flora and fauna, enjoy the history of this historic site and the South Downs, help make activities for children and youth groups memorable.

Arts and Crafts Assistant

To plan and set up an art and craft session in the social area in line with the Play and Learn Together agenda. Working under close supervision to develop new creative ideas for the session. Tidy away the session, engaging the parents and children to tidy up before they leave. Welcome all new users and to talk to families in the session making them aware of other relevant Children and Family Centre services.Ensure all families are registered with the centre and have signed in at reception. Encourage parents/carers to participate in activities with thair children. Creating publicity material in advance to publicise the group to parents/carers. Directing any confidential enquiries to a named member of staff, and adhere to all WSCC/centre policies and procedures, ensuring that any child safeguarding concerns are reported immediately to a named member of staff.
